Taryn Adamy, horseback riding trainer, dreamstone farm, gainesville, florida

Taryn has grown up working with horses as her family owns and runs a hunter/jumper boarding facility in Cowlesville, NY. Besides taking an immediate interest in showing, Taryn took an interest in training young horses and working with problem horses early in her riding career.

Previous to showing in the jumper ring Taryn has extensive experience in the hunter ring. As a junior rider she competed in the hunter and equitation divisions. As an amateur she qualified to compete at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto Canada with her mare Dream Catcher where they placed 3rd and 7th. Taryn continued to show “Dreamer” in the hunters and later in the jumper division before retiring her as a broodmare.

When Taryn started showing as a professional rider she worked with many young horses bringing them to their first shows straight through to showing them on the A- circuit. She also started developing a training style that meshed well with younger riders and adult amateur riders.

Taryn has learned that focusing on training young horses and working with young riders is, above all else, most rewarding. Through patience, perseverance, a good attitude and a little humor almost anything can be accomplished.

Candice Adamy

Coordinator of Barn Operations/ beginner rider trainer at Dreamstone Farm
Years of experience: 50 +

Candice enjoyed riding when she was younger in Canada where her grandparents lived and farmed. Horsemanship has been a tradition in the family for several decades so it was no surprise that Candice wanted to get her children involved. She owned and managed South Fork Stables, a hunter/jumper boarding facility in Cowlesville, NY for 20 years. Candice also gave beginner riding lessons at her farm and enjoys working with children. No surprise being that she is a mother of five! She also managed a small private thoroughbred breeding farm in East Aurora, NY, Hickory Landings. She has since sold her northern farm and has headed south to become a part of her daughter Taryn’s Dreamstone Farm.
